PLATFORM

"I am a father of 3 and a stay-at-home Dad. I come from a safety background and want to bring my expertise to Pleasant Valley School District. I want to work for you. We need to create more living wage jobs, improve our schools, and make public safety a top priority. With nearly a decade of safety experience, 5 of which was being the Safety Inspector for the public schools of Ventura County, I know what it takes to find solutions and get things done."
LIST OF ISSUES
Safety

The number one priority I have is the safety for all students, teachers, and visitors to PVSD campuses. Coming directly from the JPA (Joint Powers Authority) I was able to directly see the impact of the liability on all the school districts in Ventura County, including PVSD. Preventative measures are always the best. I have long been impressed with how PVSD does not choose the band-aid solution.

Congestion at school sites during drop off and pick-up is a concern. Looking into emergency evacuation procedures would also be a high priority. That would just be a starting point.

Education

Physical Education classes are keys to keeping our children healthy. More Physical Education Teachers, Coaches, and/or parent volunteers are needed to help ensure that our students are getting active. Whatever it takes to keep the students active and engaged. After school sports or activities could depend on the student voices. If athletics is encouraged, I believe it will greatly inspire the children in many other ways.

District

District morale is important to me. Does the district need more staff or does the staff need more money? Whatever the answer is, we all know we are lucky to have the people in place that we do. Now we need to make sure they are happy and want to stay.
